Binge drinking is as iconic for universities and textbooks and football. Binge drinking is not only a part of college, for many it is a weekly, if not daily experience.

How Much Do You Drink?

College-age drinker’s average nine drinks when they get drunk and 25% of those surveyed said they binged on alcohol at least once a month. That is an average of 9!

As a counselor for both in-class and online 10 hour alcohol awareness  classes I have had students brag about drinking 20 or more ounces of alcohol in one night!

Binge drinking usually means four to five drinks at a time.

Overall, according to the Middletown Journal, about 1 in 6 of the 450,000 U.S. adults surveyed said they binged on alcohol at least once in the previous month, though it was more than 1 in 4 for those ages 18 to 34.

Area universities have attempted to curb dangerous drinking for years, by offering programming and even mandating alcohol-related courses before the student steps onto campus. None of this seems to have any effect curbing college drinking.

Please know that alcohol is a drug and a poison. If you have a problem please seek help. If you prefer to maintain total anonymity there are online alcohol classes too.
