Pastor Needs Florida Alcohol Class

It always saddens me when one of God’s messengers falls victim to the sin of addiction. Of course, we all are human and infallible. We all need to ask for Our Savior’s forgiveness for something.

As a counselor for 8 and 12 hour alcohol classes I am acutely aware of stories involving religion and alcohol-related incidents. In Florida, the worship director of one of the largest churches faces a drunken driving charge after he was arrested for weaving and almost hitting a patrol car.

Jeffrey Brian Calhoun, a 49-year-old executive was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after breath tests showed blood-alcohol levels of 0.116 and 0.119. This according to tampabay.com.

The incident occurred, like usual, in the middle of the night - shortly after 3 a.m. When Calhoun exited the vehicle, the deputy noticed the strong smell of alcohol on his breath and "bloodshot, glassy" eyes. He admitted to having had two beers and a glass of wine.

This is a shameful story. Is Calhoun an alcoholic? If he has one arrest for an alcohol-related incident I would ask him at the very least to take an alcohol class. If you or someone you care about has a drinking problem, please seek help. If you prefer to maintain anonymity, there are online Florida alcohol classes too.
