This is the story of another Hollywood tragedy. This is another story where alcohol and driving combined to kill a young actress.

Sammi Kane Kraft was not a household name. In fact, her role as the female pitcher in the Bad News Bears was her only film. As reported in www.examiner.com.

She was only 20 years old.

She was a passenger in an Audi driven by her friend, Molly Kate Adams, 21, who sped down the freeway in Los Angeles, California at around 1:30 a.m. while intoxicated.

The Audi was rear-ended by a large truck and then hit by another car. When police arrived on the scene of the accident Adams who suffered only moderate injuries, was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. The actress died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Kraft starred in the movie alongside actor Billy Bob Thornton using her real life baseball skills to land the role of Amanda Whurlitzer in the remake of Bad News Bears that originally starred Tatum O'Neil. She played the only girl member of a baseball team gaining respect by fellow players for throwing a really fast "fireballer."

Another Hollywood tragedy. Could an alcohol class have kept Adams from getting behind the wheel after drinking? We will never know. Once again, alcohol and DUI have affected and ruined lives.
