Take an 12 Hour Alcohol Awareness Class before Drinking Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizer is great for killing germs externally on the dermal regions of the body. It can kill a person if ingested. That is what one woman almost found out first hand.

First off, I have to ask this question – why on God’s green Earth would someone willingly ingest hand sanitizer? It’s not as if alcohol is not readily available. As reported in www.complex.com.

As a counselor for both in-class and online alcohol classes I thought I had heard all the stories of ways people had gotten drunk, and I had heard of a few people trying it when nothing else, like cough syrup, was available, but never to the extent that this 36-year-old woman did.

Jennifer Wilcox was charged with driving under the influence—happens all the time, right? As usual, police noted the heavy smell of alcohol on Wilcox's breath as they questioned her, but she denied having anything to drink. After miserably failing a breathalyzer test by blowing a .17, she admitted that she was drunk—on hand sanitizer.

Just how much hand sanitizer do you have to drink to blow a .17?

Wilcox admitted drinking half a bottle of hand sanitizer. Again why drink hand sanitizer? She claims she did it simply because it was there.

Let's be specific, though—she drank half of a big bottle of hand sanitizer. ER doctors say that's equal to 32 shots of vodka, which would damage even the most seasoned drunk.

Holy cow! Wilcox is so lucky she did not die. I hope she takes a 12 hour alcohol awareness class and seeks counseling for a serious drinking problem.
