Online Alcohol Class (OAC) provides convenient online alcohol and drug education courses for people in Hawaii. Our programs may be used for court, probation, employment, school, or personal education requirements. Because every case is different, students can choose from several course lengths based on the hours assigned to them.

Hawaii law requires a minimum 14-hour substance abuse rehabilitation program for many first-time Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant, or OVUII, cases. The program generally includes alcohol or substance abuse education and counseling.
Students who have been instructed to complete this amount of education can enroll in our Hawaii 14-Hour DUI Class. The course is designed to provide practical information about alcohol and drug use, impaired driving, decision-making, personal responsibility, and the consequences of driving under the influence.
Hawaii commonly uses the term OVUII instead of DUI. A person may be charged when operating or assuming physical control of a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs, or with a breath or blood alcohol concentration of .08% or higher.
Not every student receives the same requirement. Some people may be ordered or advised to complete a longer or shorter program depending on the offense, their driving history, the results of an assessment, or the instructions provided by a court or agency.

A first Hawaii OVUII conviction can result in more than an educational requirement. Current penalties may include license revocation for one year to 18 months, installation of an ignition interlock device, community service, jail, fines, and additional court surcharges. The court also requires an assessment by a certified substance abuse counselor and may order additional treatment when appropriate. Penalties increase for a subsequent offense committed within ten years. A second offense may require a substance abuse program of at least 36 hours, a two- to three-year license revocation, an ignition interlock device, community service or incarceration, and higher fines.
Hawaii also has a separate underage alcohol law. Drivers younger than 21 may face penalties for operating a vehicle with a measurable amount of alcohol, which Hawaii defines as a test result of at least .02% but below .08%.

The short quizzes which follow certain lessons will help prepare for the final Hawaii examination. They do not count towards your overall score. To successfully pass and complete the program, you must score at least an eighty-percent on the final exam. However, if you do not pass, you can review the materials and re-take the exam until you do (at no extra cost).
