Have you been directed to complete a Alcohol Education Program after a DUI or DWI? Online Alcohol Class offers a convenient 12-hour alcohol education course that may be accepted as an alternative to an in-person Maryland AEP when you receive prior approval from the court or referring agency.
Maryland’s Alcohol Education Program, commonly called the AEP, is an instructional and rehabilitative program for certain individuals involved in an alcohol-related driving offense. A person may be referred by a District Court judge, an Administrative Law Judge, or the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
Maryland may require an alcohol assessment before determining which program a driver must complete. Based on the assessment, the person may be directed to complete either:
The 26-session treatment program incorporates alcohol education but includes additional treatment requirements. Our online course is an educational program and is not a substitute for alcohol treatment, counseling, an assessment, or a 26-session treatment program.
You may receive a Maryland AEP requirement if you:
When the Maryland MVA requires the program, it may send a referral letter containing instructions and a completion deadline. Follow the instructions in your referral letter even when you receive permission to use an online course.
Our 12-hour online alcohol education class is designed by experienced professionals to provide a clear, practical, and convenient learning experience. The course is available online 24 hours a day, allowing you to complete the material from home or another location with internet access.
You can use a computer, smartphone, tablet, or iPad. You may log in and out as often as necessary, and your course progress is saved automatically. There is no need to complete all 12 hours in one sitting.
